WHY IS MY CIRCUIT BREAKER TRIPPING?

Circuit breakers are designed to provide a level of electrical safety for your home or business and are installed in your Circuit Breaker Box(Electrical Panel).  Each circuit will have its own breaker where it’s sole purpose is to monitor the amount of electricity that is flowing.  When there is a surge of electricity, or an overload, the circuit breaker will turn off to prevent potential risks and further damage to the electrical system.

WHY CIRCUIT BREAKERS KEEP TRIPPING?

One possible reason why your circuit breaker keeps tripping it because it is often a result of a strain on the electrical circuit with too many high-powered appliances, devices or equipment being plugged into the outlet (at the same time) that is being controlled by that circuit.

Deliberate in design, the circuit will shut off and disrupt the flow of electricity and ultimately shut off and prevents any use of that circuit until the problem is corrected.  Unplugging appliances or equipment that is not being used will prevent further surges.  When this is done the breaker can be reset by placing it back into the ‘ON‘ position.

If the breaker continues to trip, and there are no other appliances plugged in and using the circuit, this usually means the piece of equipement you are trying to use is possibly malfunctioning and causing an overload to the electrical sytem. The circuit breaker will not stay fixed in the ‘ON’ position until the problem is rectified to prevent fire hazards or other risks.
